What is it?

The well-known merge puzzle: slide equal numbers together and they double. Move the 4×4 board with arrow keys or a swipe. When nothing can move, the run ends and your score and biggest tile go on the record.

Two or more merges in one move is a combo; making a 128 or bigger triggers fever and the next move counts double. The rules are untouched — only the excitement is ours.

The board is saved on your device. Close it and pick up later — built for playing a little at a time.

How to play

  1. 1Move with the arrowsArrow keys or WASD on a PC, swipe on a phone. Every tile slides the same way.
  2. 2Bump equal numbers2 and 2 make 4, 4 and 4 make 8. Only the merged tiles bounce.
  3. 3Chase the big tileFever at 128. Make a 2048 and the board goes dark.

Ways to use it

  • Alone

    Three moves per break

    The board keeps, so you never have to finish in one go. A few moves each break, and aim for 2048 by the end of the week.

  • Two people

    Alternate moves

    Take turns on the same board. One bad move by the other person wrecks it, which is the fun part.

  • Three or more

    Biggest tile on one device

    Pass one device around; biggest tile before the board locks wins. The record stays, so someone can beat it next break.
