Delve: what it is

Every step you take, the monsters take one. Find the stairs and go down, floor after floor. Walk into a monster to attack; kills give experience and levels. The goal is the chest on floor 30.

Herbs and scrolls are unidentified until used. Is the red herb a cure or a poison? Drink it, or throw it at something. Hunger means you need bread too. Swords and shields carry plus values, staffs have charges, traps hide until stepped on.

How to play

Move in 8 directions
Arrow keys, numpad or the buttons. Diagonals work. Walk into a monster to attack.

Use the bag
Drink herbs, read scrolls, swing staffs, equip swords and shields. Throwing goes the way you face.
3
Find the stairs
Stand on ▼ and descend. Linger too long and a wind carries you down anyway.
