Dopa Typing: 275 new words from the internet, anime, games and the news

Add trending words, internet slang, anime titles, Doraemon gadgets, Demon Slayer and Dragon Ball moves

Added 275 words in four categories, sorted into courses by length, all checked to be typeable

    Details

Four new word groups: internet, anime, games and the news. Slang, Doraemon gadgets, Demon Slayer breathing styles and characters, Dragon Ball moves, Pokémon, Minecraft, Dragon Quest spells, generative AI and heatwave days — 275 in all.

Beginner gets the short ones; Expert gets long lines like "that's just your opinion" and "my save file vanished". The news words rotate monthly.

Home: most played, new releases, your bests on the cards

Just a title — what is this place for?

Most played and new, three each. Your best on each card, and a button to clear records

    Details

Under the title you now see Most played (top three) and New (three latest). Game cards show your best on this device; when a device is shared, "Clear records" under the list wipes them (with a confirmation).

The news page is now a dated timeline. Updates read as "what was said → what was done".

Dopa Merge: sliding tiles, bigger sounds for bigger numbers, a fanfare at 2048

Tiles just snap into place. What plays at 2048? Any chance of music?

Tiles slide for 110 ms, then merge. Chords at 32/64, thicker at 512, a long fanfare at 2048. Music button added

    Details

Tiles now slide to where they land before merging or appearing. Merge sounds scale with the number: a blip up to 16, chords at 32/64, the jackpot at 128, thicker at 256/512, a fanfare at 1024, and a long fanfare at 2048 with its own banner.

There is music too — the "Music" button next to the sound toggle (off by default, so nothing plays unasked at school). It speeds up during fever. Dopa Jump has it as well.

Dopa Reversi: more flips, bigger sound

Five flips sound the same as one. Make five feel good

One "pat" per stone, rising; chords at three, thicker at five, sparkle at eight. Corners hit low. Stones flip in time with the sound

    Details

One "pat" per flipped stone, rising as they go. Chords from three, thicker at five, a sparkle at eight or more. Corners open with a low thud. Stones flip one at a time in step with the sound, and eight or more gets a "Massive!" banner.

Dopa Jump: controls shown as keys, double jump explained

Which key jumps? Nobody knows there is a double jump

Key pictures (space, ↑, tap) always under the screen, plus the double-jump hint

    Details

Under the screen you now always see space / ↑ / tap = jump and press again in the air → double jump. The "See everything else" link is a proper button now.

    Play Dopa Jump

  • NEW

    Added "Dopa Jump"

One-button endless runner. Fever every ten obstacles

    Details

One button. Space or tap to hop over whatever comes at you; press again mid-air for a double jump. Hit something and the run ends — the distance is your record.

Every ten obstacles, a fever: five seconds of passing through everything at double distance. Ten ranks, and the result shows how many metres to the next one. About thirty seconds a run.

    Play Dopa Jump
  • UPDATEAds

Ads from 500 yen a week, for anyone. A request box on result screens

Nowhere to say “I wish there was a game like…”. Ads were monthly, business-only

A one-line request box on result screens (once per 12 h). Ads from 500 yen a week for anyone, with a clear list of what does not run

    Details

Advertising works differently now. Businesses and individuals can both place something. Individuals pay 500 yen a week; businesses stay at 1,500 yen a month. One image and a link is all it takes, so wishing a friend happy birthday, setting up an in-joke prank, or plugging your own project are all fair game.

What does not go up is decided in advance: anything illegal, faces without consent, children's faces, other people's work, personal details, adult content. Payment does not change that. Everything is checked by a human, over email.

One more thing. Result screens now have a one-line box for "I wish there was a game like…" No name, no email. It shows once every 12 hours per device. I cannot reply, but I read every one, and it decides what gets built next.

    Added "Dopa Reversi"

Play the computer or a friend on one device. Legal moves are marked

    Details

Reversi on an 8×8 board. The computer has easy, normal and hard, starting on easy — win first, then turn it up. Two players on one device works too.

Legal moves are marked. Corners and big flips get a flash of text. The board is saved on your device, and so is your record against the computer.

  • NEW

    Added "Dopa Merge"

The merge puzzle. Your board is saved, so you can pick it up later

    Details

Slide equal numbers together and they double. Arrow keys or swipe. Two merges in one move is a combo; a 128 or bigger triggers fever, doubling the next move.

The board is saved on your device. Close it and come back. Three moves a break, 2048 by Friday.

Dopa Love Quiz: see how you match with someone

Want the two-of-you page for the love quiz too

Added “Two of you” to the love quiz; an invite link takes the other person straight to your pair page

    Details

The "match" feature added to the Dopamine Brain Quiz last week is now on the Love Quiz too. From the result screen, "See how you match with someone" makes a link to send.

The match looks at the four axes — heat, distance, replies, togetherness — and whether you line up or split on each. Split axes are written as friction points, and each comes with one thing the two of you can do about it. Nobody is called the problem.

The number is a weighted sum with no randomness.

  • UPDATEReading

Two more readings: status quo bias and the halo effect

Why you never switch plans, and why the good-looking proposal wins. Quiz results now link to the other quizzes

    Details

Status quo bias is knowing the other plan is cheaper and not switching. The halo effect is one good quality making unrelated ones look good. Three everyday examples each.

Quiz results now show the other quizzes underneath, and every reading has a proper card image when shared.

    Go to the readings

  • NEWReading

Ten new readings: cognitive biases and effects

Confirmation bias, anchoring, the Barnum effect, survivorship bias and more — now all under /notes

    Details

More pages you can read without playing anything. Confirmation bias, the Dunning–Kruger effect, anchoring, the default effect, the endowment effect, the Barnum effect, survivorship bias, the Zeigarnik effect, mere exposure and the peak–end rule.

Each is one page, one picture, three everyday examples — the struck-through list price, the eternal sauce pot, your face in the mirror, the last day of a trip.

Nothing inflated. The Dunning–Kruger "mountain chart" is not in the paper; the Zeigarnik effect replicates unevenly; and the quizzes on this site lean on the Barnum effect — all said plainly.

Everything now lives at [/notes](/notes), including the Dopa Dilemmas source notes (old links redirect).

Dopamine Brain Quiz: see how you match with someone

Sharing a result gives the other person little reason to take it

An invite link and a pair page. When the other person finishes, the match appears

    Details

From the result screen, "See how you match with someone" makes a link to send. Once they finish the quiz you both get a match percentage, one of five names for the pair, and a reading of each of the four axes.

Axes where you differ are written as friction points, not flaws, and each one comes with one way to make it work.

The number is a weighted sum over the axes, with no randomness — the same three matches score differently depending on which three.

  • NEW

    Added "Dopa Flash Math"

Flash mental arithmetic that speeds up every time you get it right

    Details

Numbers flash up one at a time and vanish. When they stop, you type the total — the same drill they run in abacus classes.

Every correct answer makes it faster and longer. Each term gets less time on screen, terms are added every few rounds, and the two- and three-digit courses start mixing in subtraction.

Only a wrong answer ends it. There is no clock. How far you got is the record, mapped onto ten ranks. Now and then you pick up a charm that covers exactly one mistake.

Three courses — one, two and three digits — and an on-screen keypad, so a phone is all you need.

    Play Dopa Flash Math
  • NEW

    Added "Dopa Dilemmas"

Twelve choices with no right answer, with notes on where they come from

    Details

The Ship of Theseus, the Experience Machine, the Marshmallow Test — twelve two-way choices that mix famous thought experiments with the everyday business of not being able to pick a lunch place.

Pick one and the scale tips, and you get one reading of what that pick says. Neither side is ever called correct. The ones with a source come with [a note](/notes) you can read afterwards.

At the end you get four meters and a name for the way you decide — not sixteen types like the other two quizzes, which would only make all three look like the same thing.

Nothing here asks you to choose who lives. This is a place to play lightly, so the bitter ones stay out.

Dopa Dungeon: enemies, and a way to slip past

Just luck — hard to tell what is even happening

An enemy appears first; then you choose to fight (luck) or slip past (guaranteed)

    Details

Every floor now has an enemy — bats, slimes, gasha skulls, and every tenth floor, the Warden. The stronger it is, the more it pays and the harder it hits.

On top of that there are now two roads. Fight and three doors appear, with the reels deciding. Slip past and you take a small, certain payout with no luck involved at all.

You cannot slip past twice in a row, and never past the Warden. Without that limit, slipping past would simply be the best move every time and the doors would be decoration.

Both roads are tuned to come out close. What the safe road buys is not points — it is not stepping on the trap.

HP is now shown as a number instead of a row of small squares, and every item has an icon.

    Enter the Dopa Dungeon

  • NEW

    Added "Dopa Dungeon"

Open one of three doors and go down. With a daily dungeon.

    Details

Open one of three doors and go down. The reels decide what is inside: treasure, a spring, a trap, and once in a while, a jackpot.

There is no skill in this whatsoever. You choose which door, and when to stop. Every fifth floor a shrine hands you an item and asks whether you want to climb out.

The deeper you go the bigger the points — but run out of HP and you only carry home half of them. Climb out and you keep everything. That is the only decision in the game; the rest is luck.

Today's dungeon is the same layout for everyone. It is built from the date, so anyone playing on the same day is facing the same doors you are. It is best played exactly once a day.

  • NEW

    Added the "Dopa Love Quiz"

What do you want out of love? Twenty questions, sixteen types.

    Details

What people want out of love is not the same thing at all. Some want to be shaken, some want to feel safe. Neither one is the correct answer.

How much heat you need, how fast you close the distance, whether you can wait for a reply, how much time you need alone. Four axes, sixteen types. The four letters spell DOKI — score high on all four and you are the pure strain.

The result gives you your own character, plus how it starts, how it settles, how you fight, how you message, and which types you burn with or last with.

It works best taken before you are official. How often you message and how much time you need alone are the two things couples end up arguing about later.

  • NEW

    Added "Dopa Roulette"

Write the options and spin. Ends an unresolvable argument in thirty seconds.

    Details

Write your options and spin. Where to eat, who pays the forfeit, who goes first.

Common sets are ready to go, and you can rewrite them for anything. Two options minimum, twelve maximum. It remembers what you used last time, so the same group can keep spinning.

Once it lands, nobody gets to argue. That is the entire point of letting a wheel decide. If you are going to argue anyway, do not spin.

For forfeits, mix in a few "safe" slots. If every slot is a forfeit, nobody wants to spin. Half safe, and spinning becomes the game.

    Now available in English

    Make it playable in English

Every page in Japanese and English. Switch top right; Japanese at /, English at /en

    Details

The whole site now reads in English. Switch from the top right, at the end of the breadcrumb row.

Japanese pages keep their URLs. English lives under `/en`. Links that have already been shared still work exactly as before.

Nothing switches automatically. If someone shares a Japanese link and the reader's settings quietly serve them English instead, they open something other than what was shared. Use the switch yourself.

The 16 quiz types are not machine translated — they were rewritten so the jokes land in English, titles included. Dopa Typing is the exception: it is a game about typing Japanese in romaji, and that does not change in either language.

  • NEW

    Added "Dopa Chicken"

Keep picking the right card. No skill involved at all.

    Details

Pick the winning card out of two. There is no skill component. It is entirely luck.

Every correct pick stretches the odds you have beaten so far: 1/2, then 1/4, then 1/8. Ten in a row is 1/1,024. Miss once and it all goes back to zero.

You can stop at any point and keep the record. The whole game is deciding when to stop. Walk away and you win.

It is live. Have a go if you like.

I am Doppa, and my attention span is cooked

    Details

I am Doppa, and I make Doppadopa.

I like things loud. Games and anime dissolve entire days. I cannot wait, I cannot stay, and I get distracted.

That is why I built the Dopamine Brain Quiz. Every line of it is written about myself, which I think gives it a certain authority. It is self-deprecation. Please take it personally.

Nothing complicated here — I just want to keep adding small things you can enjoy in two or three minutes. If a result makes you go "that is literally me", sharing it on X or using it as something to talk about with friends genuinely keeps me building the next one.

    Doppadopa is open

A place for things you can play in a browser. Three so far.

    Details

Doppadopa is live. It is a place for things you can play the moment you open the page — no install, no sign-up.

There are three of them right now.

Dopa Typing asks you to type each word before it gets away. Every word you clear spins the slot reels, and three of a kind is a jackpot: more time on the clock and triple score. You will want a keyboard, and it is typed in Japanese romaji.

The Dopamine Brain Quiz sorts you into one of 16 types from twenty everyday questions. You get your own character, plus a read on love, friends, games and money — and a prescription. It works entirely on a phone.

Dopa Chicken is pure luck: keep picking the right card out of two. Every hit stretches the odds you have beaten, and one miss takes all of it. The only decision is when to stop.

More will follow, a bit at a time.

    Advertising and getting in touch

Ad enquiries, thoughts and bug reports all go to the same inbox

    Details

Want to advertise, write about the site, report a bug, or ask for something? All of it goes to the same inbox.

There are two ad placements: the top of the home page and the result screens. Sizes are fixed, and the rate is 1,500 yen per slot per month, payable by PayPay or bank transfer. Nothing appears mid-game or mid-quiz. Enjoying the thing comes first, and that part is not going to change.

The site is still small. If you ask, I will tell you the numbers as they are. I am not going to dress them up.

Email is the main channel. I run this alone, so replies are slow — but I read everything.
